CANCELLATION FEES

For cancellations received more than 90 days prior to tour departure, a cancellation fee of $1000 pp will be charged, which cannot be credited to another booking.  Notice of cancellation must be made in writing to Gippsland Travel Centre.  If notice of cancellation is received 90 days or less, prior to departure, the following fees apply:

Monday 29 July – Melbourne – Perth       

We depart Warragul in the morning by coach to Melbourne Airport for our flight with Virgin Australia to Perth.  On arrival we shall be transferred to the COUNTRY COMFORT INTERCITY BELMONT for an overnight stay.  Tonight, we will have dinner at the hotel.


Tuesday 30 July – Perth to Christmas Island       

The morning is at leisure before we transfer to the Perth Airport for our three-hour flight to Christmas Island.  On arrival we will transfer to our accommodation for the next seven nights, VQ3 LODGE.  We will learn about the history and culture on an Orientation Tour in the afternoon before a Welcome Beach BBQ dinner at Flying Fish Cove.


Wednesday 31 July: Christmas Island Sightseeing        

After a continental breakfast we will meet local guides for an orientation tour learning about the history and culture as well as amazing photographic opportunities.  Lunch will be at Café Koo Kaiz before transferring to Lizard Lodge, an endemic reptile conservation program.  We return to the hotel and there is time to rest before we get together for dinner at a local restaurant.


Thursday 1 August: Christmas Island Sightseeing        

Today after breakfast, we meet the local guides for a Tour to the Dales and walk amongst the springs, culminating at Hugh’s Dale Waterfall.  After a picnic lunch. At Martin Point we trek to Merrial Beach.  This is only a short walk but we need to climb down some rock faces.  We return to the hotel and there is time to rest before we get together for dinner at a local restaurant.


Friday 2 August: Christmas Island Sightseeing        

This morning we enjoy a cooked breakfast before heading out to tour Margaret Knott & the Blowholes, enjoying the eastern views.  We will enjoy a picnic lunch at South Point Temple before we return to the hotel when we will walk to Golf Course Lookout to view birds in flight.  Dinner tonight will be at a local restaurant.


Saturday 3 August: Christmas Island Sightseeing        

This morning’s highlights include Dolly & Greta beaches and a 2km jungle walk to the island’s only white sandy beach with morning tea and lunch at a local café.  We return to the hotel for some relaxation before heading out to dinner at Lucky Ho’s Chinese Restaurant.  After dinner we will enjoy a movie at the Outdoor Cinema.


Sunday 4 August: Christmas Island Sightseeing        

Today we will have a sightseeing and snorkelling boat trip and then lunch at Flying Fish Cove.  We will visit Tai Jin House, a historical exhibition before returning to the hotel.  There is plenty of time this afternoon to relax before dinner.


Monday 5 August: Christmas Island Sightseeing        

After a cooked breakfast we meet the guides and visit Lily & Ethel Beaches.  We will enjoy a picnic lunch at Lily Beach under a gazebo and here you may like to have an optional beach swim.  We return to the hotel then visit the National Park Headquarters for orphaned.

  


Tuesday 6 August: Christmas Island Sightseeing        

We have time this morning for last minute souvenir shopping before we transfer to the airport for our afternoon flight to Cocos Keeling Islands.  On arrival we shall transfer and check in to the COCOS BEACH MOTEL, for the next seven nights. Dinner tonight will be at the Cocos Club.


Wednesday 7 August: Cocos Keeling Islands Sightseeing        

We head out early for a motorised canoe tour of the southern islands in the atoll with a champagne breakfast on Pulu Blan Madar.  We return to West Island and have lunch at Maxie’s by the Sea.  In the afternoon we will be picked up at the hotel to catch a ferry to Home Island which includes a visit to Oceania House and museum.  Dinner will be a Rasa Di Sayang, serving local cuisine, before we return by ferry to the West Island.


Thursday 8 August: Cocos Keeling Islands Sightseeing        

An early pick up today for a ferry to Direction Island where we shall have breakfast and lunch.  During our time here, we shall take a glass bottom boat to a great snorkelling spot.  In the early afternoon we depart Direction Island for West Island.  Before dinner there will be time to play a little golf on a unique course, being the only one that crosses an international airport runway.  Dinner will be a Maxie’s Café.


Friday 9 August: Cocos Keeling Islands Sightseeing        

After breakfast at Maxie’s Café, we will tour the West Island and have lunch at Trannies Beach.  There will be free time to try your hand at kayaking or plenty of other optional activities. Tonight’s dinner will be fish and chips at Saltmaker’s Café.

  


Saturday 10 August: Cocos Keeling Islands Sightseeing       

Our tour today will travel to Direction Island by ferry for a morning of swimming and snorkelling.  We discover the history of HMAS Sydney which destroyed the German cruiser, SMS Emden.  You will have the time for more kayaking or stand up paddle boarding.


Sunday 11 August: Cocos Keeling Islands Sightseeing        

Our tour today will travel to Direction Island by ferry for a morning of swimming and snorkelling.  We discover After breakfast at Maxie’s Café we head out for a Coconut tour and lunch to learn more about the best way to husk and open coconuts and watch the elders weave beautiful coconut leave baskets.  The afternoon is at your leisure before we get together later for dinner.


Monday 12 August: Cocos Keeling Islands Sightseeing        

Today’s highlights include a picnic lunch at The Spot and in the afternoon, we will enjoy watching the islands’ turtles from a motorised canoe.  There will be some free time before we get together for our Farewell Dinner under the full moon at Canoe Beach.


Tuesday 13 August: Cocos Keeling Islands – Perth       

Quite a treat today as we will join a cooking class with the students at Cocos District High School and help prepare traditional Cocos Malay dishes under the guidance of Home Island elders.  The experience concludes with a delicious shared meal. In the afternoon, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Perth.  On arrival, we will be transferred to the COUNTRY COMFORT INTERCITY BELMONT for an overnight stay.

  


Wednesday 14 August: Perth – Melbourne      

After breakfast we transfer back to the airport for our late morning flight to Melbourne.  We arrive in the late afternoon and will be met and transferred back to Warragul by coach.
